Hm. I tested the SOMA's FOV (90) In amnesia.

It's not that bad, considering amnesia's FOV is 70.

FOV intensity can't be set in a number. It depends from game to game. In Gothic the perfect FOV Hor+ is 65 while in Project CARS I set it to 110 at some camera views. There is no correct value in general.

Who is the lead programmer of SOMA?
There will be a mini-game like "Schmup" on one of the computers? Chess would be great!

Well while 45 is the default FOV in everything (3d programs, video editor, cameras) let's say 70 is 45 so
the FOV in SOMA 75. But this isn't the point. I guess the FOV system of HPL2 and 3 is the same, either it's good or bad to have a FOV set on 90, we can simply change it in game.cfg

That PC World preview was quite good.

It really focused on the intent of the game to effect you mentally and how your choices show just who is the human in that moment.

At least some of it ?

I believe not. Too many polygon count.

Some floors and ceilings are actually polygon mapped in Amnesia, but yet they are still flat (cellarbase, I think has a few. Mansionbase has a few too) or have a rather low polygon map. With most of these models, it more or less comes down to the simplistic perspective of "if the player can see it, we have to model it".

I'm sure SOMA may incorporate some very detailed ceilings, however may still stick to planes.
