			| Game Won't Launch

After trying the suggestions in the troubleshooting thread to no avail, I've now made a thread to try and solve my problem.
Basically, when I try to launch the game via Steam, it pops up the launching window, and when that goes away it closes. Steam update window pops up like it does when you exit a game, and when I launch it I do get a couple seconds of In-Game: SOMA before it changes back to Online. But there's no window trying to open, no error message, nothing. It's certainly not the first time I've had this problem with a Steam game, but the solution is always different.

I've also tried just launching the .exe from the install directory, but it just gives me an unspecified error. Any help would be appreciated, as I really don't want to refund a game just because of a technical problem like this.

I should mention too that I don't have an hpl.log file yet, presumably because I haven't actually run the game.

Your specs looks like it should run with no problems, so it might be a driver issueCould you upload a dxdiag.txt from Start Menu > dxdiag.exe > Save All Information...

You could also try running the game as Administrator

Can you try downloading this http://dependencywalker.com/depends22_x64.zip , unzip run the program, open soma.exe in it and see if it reports any missing dependencies? It will probably mention a whole lot of EXT-MS-WIN-..... and API-MS-WIN-.... that you can ignore. You can save the result, zip and upload it please.

So this is what I got:
 The log:
Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

The apparent missing dependencies are MSVCR80.DLL and IESHIMS.DLL.

IESHIMS.DLL should not matter. Uncertain about MSVCR80.DLL, I thought it only used 90 and 100 at least according to my own run on soma!
If you are up for it, could you try installing:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...x?id=14431
This will give you MSVCR80.DLL.

So, I realized that the error I was getting with the .exe actually was a 0xc00007b, and Dependency Walker is also showing that MSVCR90.DLL and VCOMP100.DLL are x86, when I assume they should be running x64, which is in line with the error.
