And there is always a pair of socks under the bed <3

There are books in a shelf right next to the camera, but the camera doesn't pick it up (Of course).
Clothing is in the brown shelf. I'm not sure if i should put rotten food or clothes on the ground, since i'm planning to do a tidy apartment Big Grin
But maybe i will find some details i can add.

The question that will never be answered:
SOMA WHY ARE YOU SO BEAUTIFUL? ;_;

I like the design with the big windows showing off the ocean. But I'd work more on the lighting because as of now it's just white light on whitish surfaces.

putting a map together, just figured out a tough 45 degree corridor solution that took me the better part of a day to get just right.

In general - you need to have a pointlight with low brightness and a large radius near your lights to simulate the "bouncing" of light, as right now you have ridiculously dark ceilings despite the fact the light would be reaching there quite easily. On top of that, in some levels I think you're using pointlights over spotlights, like the 6th picture - spotlights should be used from the lamps to create shadows under the tables. You also have light bleeding through the walls on some pictures - either way, just work on your lighting more, use more colour and maybe add some more detail. I love the ideas you have behind the screenshots, and would love to see them develop more.

Thanks for the feedback! Lighting is definitely tricky to master Sad I'm slowly getting the hang of it though, I hadn't actually used any of the hpl editors until SOMA came out and I'm finding it really interesting learning all about it Smile

Here's some special stuffs that I've been working on. (Warning: lots of images ahead.)

Spoiler below!

[Image: 85DC979778BF61C96B51EC7FF907037AA59DFC7F]

Just starting off... things look incredibly ominous already.

[Image: 7F998740D0AF703715F57A60072D548F02B68737]

...though I think it's not quite as bad as where I came from.

[Image: B65A6CB733B9E128A30804AF497D5433F98105B3]

Oh hey, a laboratory at the end of a long dark hallway. This should be safe!

[Image: 2742A2FF0665B77F0AEEF83A57672FB4F5D5BC3A]

Now that's even more ominous-er.

(End of part 1 due to 4 image per post limit.)

Part 2, now with 4 more images!

Spoiler below!

[Image: 37CD8936FFBC967625758C8868207661F0A25FDB]

Here we go. Things don't look too bad with the lights on.

[Image: ECBB23072EBC04AFCFB2EF273D34D4BFF23B01CE]

Now that just looks downright unsanitary.

[Image: 937B611787D985DFE2D66D14BECAF141ABDC9BC4]

Just gonna punch in my super-secret passcode real quick.

[Image: 484AD8F7D7252D37623215FF1F5E0F3EF0A1BF26]

...It's a... childhood nickname. What?

(4 images per post... that's the deal.)

And now to Part 3.

Spoiler below!

[Image: C33E4BD831D7D4E92891CCABBBF75D1F863DBE47]

I swear I'm gonna unlock this door if it kills me!

[Image: 7D1A14E53E0A610549B091E86851133E9D31360A]

Making the room a little less death-y should do the trick.

[Image: F9A40D1DD88A17BF55D0DE9A1338449B17355723]

There we go! All matters settled!

[Image: C73FFCD1082DF1F56D3487F9A9E77E02F368D734]

Not sure if I made it better or worse.

(That's part three, you know the drill.)

And finally, the finale.

Spoiler below!

*super secret spy theme*

[Image: 0CB86ED2352EF597F7DAE5CC0135DDC870954F0A]

Oh hey, what have we here?

[Image: 7248FEE8332D1C371A0C1117A621F0C872D30751]

If this wasn't mind-splittingly painful, this would probably be really cool.

[Image: 10A49DAC9C2FBE1203397E6802F812A9AEDB2A5F]

Ah, this brings back such pleasant memories.

(No, this really is the end of it this time.)

H there.

There's some really amazing work going on in these forums, I am inspired to continue persevering to see what the soma modding community will create!

People are using the tools to great effect, and I wanted to learn how to create custom entities - such as an animated character!

http://imgur.com/YJP8u6h

I used blender with the default collada exporter - there is also a plugin called 'better collada exporter'
I made it 1 texture per material per object

Blender will produce a .dae which you can open with model viewer.

If you get no textures in the model viewer, you can open the material editor and create a MAT file by importing your image

You can then import it into model editor - which i am still learning to use

I think I triangulated faces 1 too many times Wink
