RE: References and easter eggs you found

I like to believe the non-functioning chess game was a nod to our very own Googolplex.

In the Omicron Structure Gel labs, there is a whiteboard with a graph and various notes. In the right upper corner of the whiteboard "System Shock" is written.

Also in Omicron, in the room where all mutated sealife specimens are stored there is a vat with a black creature, that when looked at resembles a Reaper from the "Mass Effect" series.

I'm at work, so can't check the textures, but I think that one said "systemic shock".

There are multiple videos played on the screen when you take the shuttle to Lambda.

When you reach the shuttle station near Upsilon, after you power up the train, you must choose where you want the shuttle to take you. You can choose between Lambda, Delta, Theta and Omicron.

.jpg   image.jpg (Size: 228.66 KB / Downloads: 477)

You can choose ANY station to travel to, even if you must go directly to Lambda the train will leave regardless of which station you selected, but it will still crash in the same place in the tunnel (Lambda is the closest station and all roads go through it).
After the shuttle leaves, a short description video on Pathos-2 can be viewed on the station selection screen.

Depnding on which station you selected to travel to, the last part of the video will state "We are headed for [selcted station] and show a brief image and description of the station you selected. There are 4 versions, you could replay and see all of them! Wink

No. There are no gold arabic_statue ornaments in SOMA.

At certain points in the game (in the computer at Theta where the legacy scans are stored, and there is another reference at some point) a scan is refered to as a "Nakajima neurograph". Googling the term came up with a book on brain imaging, and one of the quoted scientific publications on which the book is based was published by a researcher named Nakajima H.
The article and book is basically about research in using MRI brain scans to find better treatments for neurological diseases, similar to what Dr. Munshi was trying to accomplish through his research.
