I'd like to report a bug here that only affected me once, I had no other issues with SOMA after I had restarted the game but thought I'll report it here anyway.
I got killed twice by the monster at the start of Tau. The screen said "You died" and I clicked to try again. The loading icon in the lower-right corner showed up and at this point the game froze with one thread eating CPU cycles. I killed and restarted the game and could continue playing without issues.
I use the GOG version with the 1.02 patch. I copied the stack of the thread via Process Explorer, maybe it helps:
