I am totally in awe with the game. Especially the ending, of course.
That said, I've been reading Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke and the likes since... I guess... 1999? So while SOMA didn't bring anything really revolutionarily new to the table... of course, seeing how it deals with so many philosophical questions that have been discussed for years... the way the player EXPERIENCES those things through the game is absolutely stunning. Breathtaking. Excelling beyond all bounds, if you ask me personally. I haven't felt like that about a game (when the credits rolled) in a looong time.
So thank you very much for this phenomenal game, Frictional Games!
The thing is... now I really want to have more stuff of the game. Physical stuff, to be exact.
I'll probably let some big official SOMA wallpaper from the web be printed as a poster for my apartment, but... isn't there something more? Something I could spend money on?
I was thinking along the lines of...
- a boxed version of the game
- the soundtrack on CD
- an artbook
- a novelization
- a UH8 plush robot!
- alternative art posters
I doubt there'll be anything like that coming our way, will there?
