Project: Penumbra:Last stand [Project satus: Hibernating]
Story:
Despite Philip's best efforts the Tuurngait was not destroyed but was instead released onto the world. The Tuurngait spread quickly over most of the world. The few survivors set up an underground facility devoted to the research of a cure.
You play the role of a survivor who must scavenge parts, build a radio, contact the survivors then survive until help arrives.
The mod will have more action than Overture in that you must fight off the infected.
Infection system:
Many things can become infected, ie a pet dog, or even grass.
Allies (possibly):
Dogs
People
Enemies:
Dogs (improved pack behaviour)
Bats (boids AI)
Spiders (small & big ones)
People (Can use tools, throw spider etc at you)
Build system:
Hammer + nails
Nailgun
Welder
String
Build system allows modification to enviroment ie board up windows, weld shut metal doors.
Vehicles:
Cars
Motorbikes
Boats
Trucks
Lorries
Combine havester(Also use to get rid of infected grass)
Vehicles will drive with standard WASD, though some may contain physics controlled levers. May be taken apart fro stuff (starter motor, engine, wheels, battery, radio).
Weapons:
Tools
Pitchfork
Machete
Pistol
Revolver
Rifle
Flamethrower(custom built, removes infected grass)
Weapons may be combined with string or motors to set traps.
Towns:
Procedurally generated towns for scanvenging in.
Dual hand system:
Whilst holding an item, you can press a key and then you can let go, it will hold item in position given it is light enough for one hand and you are close enough, if too far then it will drag/pull it along (may or may not keep relative roatation). Useful when using tools.
Wiring system:
Will probably be done in angelscript, objects can have inputs and outputs and be wired together, ie laser sensor -> not -> bomb.
Required to compete game, the player must build a radio transmitter and transmit coordinates.
