Penumbra Overture Crash at new game

i previously bought the humble indie bundle, and Penumbra Overture by extension, and only recently got around to trying it. everything is fine and dandy up until i play through the intro cutscene. when the loading screen pops up at the end of the cutscene, the game crashes for some reason. i've tried reinstalling it, and thats really the extent of my tech knowledge. can anyone help?

Do you know what graphics card you have? Chances are it is not capable of running the game or that you will have to update the drivers for it.
