The installer fails:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Installer for Amnesia - The Dark Descent..........................Extraction failed.
Signal caught, cleaning up

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64 bits.

Already tried downloading it again, same problem.

Did you make it executable? chmod +x?

Do you have enough free disk space in /tmp? And is /tmp NOT mounted with noexec?

You will need around 1-1.5GB free in /tmp or specify --target when running the installer to specify an alternate location.
