strange graphics glitch, really annoying

while playing my brightness is constantly flickering between its normal level and almost complete darkness. after some trial and error i found that if i have a light source visible on screen everything is fine, but if i move the camera little to the side (so the light source is no longer visible) the screen goes almost completely black. This leads to nearly constant flickering between visibility and blackness as i move around the environment.

i have a nvidia GeForce 9600 GT and have already tried updating my drivers.

Check if some background application is interfering. Turn of everything running in the background (ie Windows Aero is known to cause problems).

Help I have the demo and for some reason the floor pops up in certain paces, it overlaps everything like chairs and carpet can someone help me I am using,
Graphics card: ATI radeon x1200 series
Quality: low
Textur quality: Medium
Shadow quality: Low
Shadow resolution: Medium
Textur filture: Bilinear
SSAO: off
Edge Smooth: off
World reflection: off
Anisotropy: off
SSAO resolution: Medium
SSAO Samples: 8
Parallax: off

In order to fix this download the v1.0.1 amnesia patch. On of the things that it fixes is:

Make sure you have updated your drivers to the latest one available. Your gpu is old and so the latest driver from AMD is 10.2 and it supports XP/Vista, not windows 7 officially. Download these according to your system:

Vista (maybe 7) x86:

Vista (maybe 7) x64:

Windows XP x86:

I don't think you have Windows XP x64 but if you do tell me to give you the link, it is from the amd site.

i experienced this problem when i enabled SSAO so disable that and if its already disabled perhaps some background apps interfering as that also happened to me these things happen and you need to test stuff out in options ect hope you get your game fixed

both of you guys, but a new graphics card. Yours are too old for a 2010 game even if it is not famous for its graphics.
