RE: Darkness Challenge
I didn't quite do that, but I found myself using light less and less as I progressed. I had exactly 46 tinderboxes and 5 jars of oil at the end. I was deathly afraid of being seen by the monsters.

This is my second run. The Bone is in the incinerator and the Poison Gland is in the extractor where I left them in the Laboratorium. I didn't find the Blood Pool on this run... must have missed it due to lack of light/stress speed run.
1st run took me 11-12 good hours. 2nd run in about 4-5 hours. So, in the first run, I spent at 6 hours being scared, moving slow, and solving puzzle. Also, half an hour looking for the The Elevator Control Room's 4th pipe BECAUSE THERE IS A FOURTH PIPE, OK?!?

RE: Darkness Challenge
My first playthrough I never had less than 20 tinderboxes and plenty of oil, after a while knowing I could, at a whim, skip down a corridor lighting every torch on my way took some of the power away from the darkness.
The game is best played with a low sanity if you ask me, there are events that might not trigger if you don't have one foot hovering over the threshold of madness.
That pipe got me, too.

Sorry to disappoint you ;P

RE: Darkness Challenge
I like playing in the dark and had over 50 tinderboxes and about 10 oil left.
I just 'lit up' when i wanted to see the game's models better.
I might have another go and see if I can do it without using any light at all.

That's hardly a darkness challenge it's just breaking thru the collision seam on the mesh.
You can do that in lots of games.
It may be interesting, but would completely ruin a players enjoyment if they looked at the level before they play.
However FrictionalGames should add that to it's list of things to check before the next game.

The extra pipeholes are there to confuse you.
Apparently it worked.

Huh? You don't get it, do you? ;P
Lemme explain: this trick helps to complete a true Darkness challenge, without even picking up that lantern (we are forced to do so, script you see). There is always can be a temptation to use lantern in some places, this trick prevents that completely
