RE: Music for your custom story

Both of those tracks have a beat to them if you listen closely enough (actually, the Silent Hill one's seems to become more pronounced over time and leaves something to focus on, making it less scary for me after a while) but neither emphasizes it. They both instantly show their mood.
The 1st one is a really good music with the exception you pointed out. (actually, the Silent Hill one's seems to become more pronounced over time and leaves something to focus on, making it less scary for me after a while)
Part of what makes a music scary is random beats and organic/ natural sounds. Silent hill uses this a lot and even amnesia (the broken radio like sound when a monster is chasing you for example)

RE: Music for your custom story
Nice music tracks you've got there! Certainly Silent Hill-esque. What program did you use to make these?

Here's another one!
It's for custom diaries or notes you might include in your custom story.

I kinda included Daniel's theme as mentioned in the commentary.

there are many great custom stories coming up! I'm looking forward to play them (even if I have not finished Amnesia yet... gaah, I can't get myself to continue playing after that monster appeared RIGHT outside the prison kitchen ).
I decided to add my 2 cents with creating some music any author of custom stories can use.
So far, there are only 4 themes, but you can request more if you want, and I'll occasionally add some by myself.
If you request music, tell me what mood it should have and where it's appearing. If it'll spoil your story, just send me a PM with the request.
Enough jabbering, here's what I made so far:
Main Menu Theme
Safe Zone
Monster!
Diary
Enjoy it, and please leave credit if you use it. You don't have to, though.
More coming up!
Wow! I love the second one, its so beautifull! If you don't mind, I want to use it as my cellphone ring music :3
And whenever that music starts to play in the mod, I'll mount a tent there and live there.
And I have a suggestion, I know this can be difficult, but whenever we had our sanity low, it would be cool to hear once in a while a very messy music, like playing randomly on a piano but still sounding creppy, if you know what I mean
Sorry for my bad english.

Put any music files you want in there. Then, use the script PlayMusic("title of music, no extension", true, 1, 3, 0, true);
which matches up with void PlayMusic(string& asMusicFile, bool abLoop, float afVolume, float afFadeTime, int alPrio, bool abResume);
Change the values as you need.
