Merging this thread with your other one due to how similar they are.

If it works when the Development Environment is on, then go back and change
ShowMenu="false"
to true. At least that way, you can load your CS normally through the menu and with the appropriate development features necessary. That might be all that is necessary to get your languages to display.

You'll know it works since the Description of your mod will state the description you used in your lang~

Alright, thanks. But now the extra_english.lang file doesn't work again, at all. I deleted amnesia again, and the folder containing the dev_user (and everything in it), reinstalled the game and it doesn't work at all. It won't even show the story description. What is going on???

To start on your map instead of Rainy Hall
Assuming you start with the menu screen in dev mode

Start a new text file called custom_story_settings.cfg

Include this text in the file, you do need the " marks

     Name="MY CS NAME"
     Author="ME"
     ImgFile="Whatever image you want for behind your CS text"

     MapsFolder="Wherever you put your maps within your CS folder"
     StartMap="NameOfMapYouWantToStartOn.map"
     StartPos="PlayerStartArea_Whichever"
/>

Save the file, MAKE SURE THE EXTENSION IS .cfg it's really important

Place it in your custom story's folder, not inside the maps folder.

Example:

I have already done that, but I am pleased to say that I solved the mystery on my own! And my project is now continuing as normal.
