Can't start Amenisia

I've tried running Amnesia and every time it starts up it says
"LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specific module cannot be found"

I've tried running it from Steam AND the executable itself but same song.

I've got Windows 7 32bit
Radeon HD 5750
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor
4GB Corsair Ram
and.. anything else you need?

I've attached a DxDiag txt if you need anything else.
I've updated my drivers for the video card, updated Direct X and even tried reinstalling the game but nothing.

Just found what it said on the HPL thing.

"ERROR: Unable to open config file 'config/main_init.cfg'! Invalid filepointer returned!"
What can I do 'bout that?

go into the amnesia game folder and look inside the config file and make sure main_init.cfg is there
C:\*******\Steam\steamapps\common\amnesia the dark descent\config
if its missing you can download and put this one in there

Is this off of steam? Verify the game file integrity, seems like you have a corrupt install.

I did verify AND uninstalled it and re-installed it many times :'(

That's not it, I have good download service and I've seriously uninstalled it 7-8 times. Steam games ALWAYS work for me, it's not Steam.

wow... can you give a description of how far it goes before it crashes?
what operating system are you on, XP, Vista.... linux... mac?
it doesn't look like a corrupted install... else it wouldn't have a log like that... normally a corrupted install has a memory leak or would just not respond when you open it

this is something else...

I'm guessing... it tried refreshing the hand lanterns and something happened...
do you have any custom files installed?

maybe try running the game in compatibility mode... its not related but its a try... you'd have to run steam in compatibility mode too
its worth a shot...

its some sort of cache issue most likely... how much ram do you have?

worst case... if its an oldish computer, there might be some failing hardware that fails to load the game files properly

Thanks for the reply! No, this is a brand new computer. I've got 4gbs of ram,
5750 video card and a six core processor.
no custom files installed whatsoever and I'm on Windows 7 32bit.
I've tried running on compatibilty mode but no go and as for as what happens in start up, i click on Amnesia to start playing it and it goes right into the error "LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specific module cannot be found"
