Overture Crashes After Intro!

Ok so I finally got the Penumbra Collection, that is Overture, Black Plague, and Black Plague's expansion Requiem. I installed it and then went to Frictional's Support website to find their updates. I found a update for "Penumbra Collection". Perfect! Installed it and then went to Overture. I set the Graphics to basically max everything, and then restarted the game.

Ok now every-time I start a new game and go through the beginning climatic it crashes!

Help?

Ohh ya and here is my system specs, I am pretty sure I can handle max everything....

If you bought the game from here, it already is up to date. No need to install any patches.

I have the same issue, after the intro when starting a new game, it crashes. I've tried reinstalling, wiping settings and tried countless other exe's on the tech forum for other issues, none which have fixed mine.

First you have to update all games to v1.1.
Then you should update any sound- and graphic driver.
Delete the "Penumbra Overture" folder from the Documents.
Start Penumbra.exe as an Administrator!

Not use any kind of modified exes.

I've tried all of those, none work.

Penumbra work fine for me on Win7 64.

So, I can't help you really. But from other games I knew that there can be issues with multi core processors.

So try this and tell us about your story.

Start Penumbra.exe as administrator.
Then minimize the game and open the task manager and choose in "processes" the penumbra.exe and click right and disable in (german) Zugehörigkeit all cpu cores except Core_0 and Core_1.

You also can set compatibility of Penumbra.exe to Windows XP SP3.
