Stuck after the steam room

After entering the vent under the stairway, the tunnel forks. Left seems to be nothing, and to the right there is a vent on the floor. Attacking it won't work, and I can't just click on it like a normal door...how do I get outa here?

Print screen does not seem to work (just black). It is right after the steam grid puzzle, where you need to walk on the right squares at the right time, or the steam kills you. There is a stairway up to a door, but it is jammed. Under the stairway, there is the duct system where I think I need to go. Trouble is I don't see an exit.

edit: tried again, and upon looking at the vent, the door icon appeared (left click to enter). This was a bug though, as I very thoroughly checked in the first attempt and no door icon was appearing, nor did clicking do anything.
