Hi,

Ive played all the penumbra games with no problem at all. Then this came out so i bought it and it's not working. When i click launch on the start up menu it waits a few seconds then says : Not enough drawbuffers supported! Make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date!

So.. I Updated my drivers and i got the same message. I Was going to get a new graphics card soon. But i was wondering if there's any other way to fix this.

I'm not a tech guy or anything but it says on my device manager that i have a :

Nvidia GeForce FX 5200.

Is my card out of date?
Thank you in advance. Smile

Looks fine.

My recommendation before buying the game, is to download and play the demo.
If it works fine, then the full game should work just as fine.

Seems like Sel is right then.
Anyway the "play the demo" thing, is still the best way to find out, if you can play the game.

Ignore this, because it's entirely wrong.

The 5200fx is ancient, it won't run amnesia.

Ok, Well i already tried updating the drivers to the max and it didnt work so, Should i just buy a new card? I Was thinking off buying a Palit SONIC PLATINUM nVIDIA GTX 460 Geforce 1GB Graphics Card

But i'm not sure if that would help D:

You'd need a whole new pc, somehow I doubt you'd be able to use any newer graphics cards, since your pc appears to be from the AGP era.

I don't really know anything about AGP graphics, other than they're old, and outdated. So yeah, sorry, but I don't :/

E: Actually, find out if it's AGP or PCI. I did some looking and it appears the card was made for both. If you have PCI you could probably find a card capable of running the game.

ignore this, because it is entirely wrong. there are still plenty of agp-cards flying around these days. the last one i held in my hands was an ati hd3850. this one would be more than enough to play this and many more games. it's also a save bet that it will run the next couple of frictional games. buying such a card costs a few bucks, but nothing compared to what a new comp would cost. if you're such a casual gamer that you were satisfied with your current gfx-card's performance then a new comp just for this game would be overkill...

given the fact that pci was succeeded by agp, you better hope for having an agp-system, because any pci gfx-card would be much slower than it's agp counterpart. in any case you need to make sure that your mainboard and psu allow an upgrade

Part of this is correct, I was wrong about the PCI cards, and about agp cards not being able to run this game.

However, I'm going to go out on a limb here and point out that if his pc is actually using a graphics card from 8 years ago, on a type of port that has been actively phased out since 2004, chances are that he'd have to upgrade more than just his graphics card, in order to meet Amnesia's minimum requirements. Especially since he claims to not be tech savvy, and therefore would probably not have upgraded it at all. There are more components to a pc than just a graphics card, just in case you forgot.

@D2tz Posting your full pc specs here would help significantly.

(CPU, RAM especially)

@Mexxi, hahah, plenty, yeah right.

From Newegg.

AGP 4X/8X (21)
PCI Express 2.1 x16 (135)
PCI Express 2.0 x16 (360)
PCI Express x16 (5)
PCI Express x1 (5)
