Rainbow  The Electric Castle Demo

The Electric Castle
Once, while mapping I was listening to Ayreons album: Into The Electric Castle(1998) when it occurred to me it had a nice story that could be implemented into Amnesia (apart from the electric theme). For those who don't know, Ayreon - Into The Electric Castle is a progressive metal (rock opera) album with a kind of like a space theme. That forced this story to go on the artsy side of level developement.

I have worked with this project for less than a moth or something and its been exhausting. That is why i have come to the conclusion that i publish a demo (about 10minutes) first and see what people have to tell. This is my first full solo story with scripting so i learned a LOT in the process (that can be seen as progress with scripting throughout the story). The 1521 lines of script consist mainly of timers (i must have typed string &in asTimer a thousand times...)

Oh god damn it! I completely forgot to give credit and notify that this map uses the old coffin model made by DonProtz, and it is required to be in your entity/container folder...

btw the map uses a few justine entities i guess, but it shouldn't bother much.
I haven't had any beta testers for this so there might be some hidden bugs.
Sorry for not uploading cute pictures, I hope this thread gains attention nevertheless!
Also this map contains lots of flashy lights and I have no idea if it is epilepsy safe...

RE: The Electric Castle Demo

This story is amazing!!!!!!
Spoiler below!

I loved the part where the doors on the sides of the room started getting smashed down and the heavy metal played! =D
And by the way, please can you post the script you used to make your vision go really elongated at that part? =)
(the part in the spoilers)
Thanks! =D

RE: The Electric Castle Demo

Spoiler below!
Did you die in the second hallucination, in the foggy dungeon?
What happened with the angel statue?
Did you die in the chase?
Was it thrilling?
Was the beginning too boring?
Did the effects de-sync at start?

Alright, in the foggy dungeon, you mean the one with the three grunts? Yes i did die, there wasn't any way out so the grunts found me,
What angel statue? if you mean the part at the main castle door with the red fog all i saw was red fog, I died the first time in the chase because i was off to the left near the doors, but second time i ran right down the middle, It was very thrilling and very different (in a VERY good way), The beginning was very new which stopped it being boring...however it did drag on a little but only a little, and finally no the effects remained perfectly synced throughout =)

Glad to be able to provide ya with feedback ^_^
