I've been looking all over the forum, but I haven't been able to find any answers to my problem.

Amnesia has run perfectly on my computer for some time now - this is a laptop that can play Sims 3, Silent Hill 3, Alice 2, and other graphic heavy games with ease, and I've never had any problems with it. My Nvidia GEForce is up to date. I had the computer turned off when I took it with me on a trip, and when I booted it up again, the game suddenly threw me the error. Restarting the computer did nothing, and I also have have a dev_user folder that appeared out of nowhere.

HPL log is attached, as well as the error log. I do use a docking thing for my programs to free up desktop area, but I also tried starting it directly from the .exe and it gave me the same error. I don't know if the error has anything to do with location because I tried to boot it up in the hotel (I had tried it just that morning with it working perfectly), but since it doesn't rely on internet, I have no clue. After reading the threads on the subject, I checked my graphics card, played with settings, ect. The game still will not run anymore.

Is this an issue with hardware?

Please post your hpl.log under Documents/Amnesia/Main

I think it is the correct HPL.log Tan.

Are you sure that you did not mess with any game files at Documents\Amnesia folder?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I didn't touch any of the files. The only thing I did was to go in there and scan through my saves to see if something was off, and to figure out where that dev_user folder came from. I deleted the new empty folder, restarted the game, and it simply returned.

Returned? What do you mean? Can you play the game now fine?

No, I meant that I deleted the new folder and restarted the game, but it still threw the same error and the dev_user folder returned to the documents folder.

Delete the amnesia folder under Documents and start a new game.
This will delete all of your saves, if you want to back up them, you can do so.

Okay, that seems to have worked, thanks!

Perhaps something got corrupted in the Documents folder - I'm not sure exactly what, since I've never gone in there and messed with anything, but I'll be back if it happens again.
