there seems to be graphical glitches. What is that black thing at the picture's left? Merged with the other topic.

Nope maybe yesterday because that is when i posted it for the first time but i looked back in other threads and found a guy with the same problem so maybe you talked to him

While waiting for Jens to reply, are your graphics card drivers updated? I can see graphical glitches at the image above, that's why I'm asking.

play from an earlier save using an up-to-date version of the game that is not downloaded from a bad place.

Okay i tried again and it still doesn't work, i didn't download the game, I bought it

The update says there is a different solution to the puzzle in level 02. what is it?

I am sure now there is a bug in the update for the alternate solution in level o2 or it is an impossible solution. I replaced all the maps (textures and stuff) from the update with the first orignal one.

Now there is no alternate solution just the simple one

So maybe you guys should take a look at that update because there might be a bug!!!

Let's try a clean reinstall:

1) Uninstall Penumbra Collection v1.1 from Control Panel > Uninstall a program.
2) Go to C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Penumbra Collection and, if it exists, rename it to Penumbra Collection_TEST.
3) Go to C:\Users\-YOUR-USER-NAME-\Documents\Penumbra\Black Plague and rename it to Black Plague_TEST.
4) Go to C:\Users\-YOUR-USER-NAME-\AppData\Local\VirtualStore and, if it exists, rename it to VirtualStore_TEST.
5) Install Penumbra Collection v1.1 as downloaded from the FG Store.
6) Start Penumbra Black Plague from the beginning (saves should not appear now either way) and go to that puzzle. It should work just fine with the normal way everyone does it.

Notes:
- If you have Windows XP, and not Vista,7 or 8, the control panel and folder layout is slightly different.
- If you have x64 Windows, then it is C:\Program Files (x86)\...
