Shifting Textures and Opaque windows in Penumbra-black plague

Solved: 8 Years, 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago Shifting Textures and Opaque windows in Penumbra-black plague

For example.

The textures on the walls especially shift and only setting the shaders on very low avoids the issue and even then the game has some major drawing issues. Other textures like menus, notices, etc.. are often covered by the wall texture and windows cannot be seen through naturally. I bought the game on steam and wasn't warned that it wasn't compatible with my hardware (Radeon 4670/Catalyst 8.12, problems exist with and without Catalyst A.I.)

What is the possibility that the development can address this issue for this hardware? Otherwise, can I be refunded?

"I bought the game on steam"
The game is on steam now!? I did not know that...

The game has been tested on new Radeon (have a Radeon HD myself) and it should work. Could you locate "hpl.log", it should be in "My Documents/Penumbra/Black Plague" and copy the contents here and I will see if something can be spotted.

As for refund, you need to contact the steam support for that.

I am not 100% sure about this, but it seems like you have an old version of the game and it that case the patch will fix your problems. However, our patch in the support section will not work with the steam version of the game.

Will check this out tomorrow and give more info asap!

Checked the logs some more and there is a lot of strangeness. Seems like some scripts are not loaded as they should and so on. This has made me believe that your installation might be corrupted. Uninstall the game, reinstall and then try again.

We had a chance today to examine the Steam version of Black Plague, it turns out it needs some updating. We have submitted the info required to correct BP on Steam, so hopefully an update will be available on Steam soon!
