Story of a Briton that really. I'm Welsh and everyone in Wales speaks English, yet quite few Welsh people actually speak Welsh anymore. Recently its on the increase which is good, but its a good example of how we take English for granted as being a Universal language.
I admire you European/Non-Native English speakers, yet envy at the same time.

I think it's interesting with languages, I speak swedish (ofcourse), english and some spanish. And I have to disagree and say that I think it is good that english is a universal language, not because it is english but because a universal language is essential for us to be able to comunicate. And the reason why it is english, I belive, is because of our dear brittish folks sailing the world and claiming lands by sticking a flag in the ground. It could as easily have been french or spanish. Heck, not so long ago german was the language used in Europe for comunication between nations. I guess it changes with time...
On Topic: Parents not taking responsibility for their children. Always blaming something: "violent" music, movies, games etc. Whenever something bad happens it is never the parents fault.
