1st: interplay between yelled harsh and clean vox with lots and lots of distortion and altering in the production, heavy focus on melody and complexity (lots of time signature changes n shit), more interplay between dissonance and melody though fairly clean guitars (1:26 vs 1:53)
2nd: vox are like a constantly very strained and yelled, are more prominent in the mix and are audible (they actually have a pretty heavy focus on lyrics if you pay attention), instrumentation is very heavily distorted and meant to sound angry as fuck, production is fast/in your face and made to sound very big, very heavy focus on riffs and d-beats
3rd: throatier vocals than the last two with a much deeper range, instrumentation is like a constant assault (blast beats on the drums, heavily distorted guitars playing constantly), production is much lower quality giving it a much more raw feel

I tried listening to those songs again while taking into account your analysis of each but I am still unable to find any enjoyment in them.

The screaming is just so ear-grating.

RE: RAGE THREAD!!!

well to be fair none of those are really very accessible lol, i was just linking them for example. most people that are into more extreme forms of music don't really just dive right into that sort of stuff, ya gotta work your way there. usually it starts with poppy metal/melodic metalcore since that sort of stuff is pretty accessible and there's usually less growled/yelled/screamed stuff. the first band with harsh vocals i really liked was bullet for my valentine, though i mainly liked them for their riffs and preferred when the stuck to cleans (no i don't listen to them anymore of course this was when i was like in 5th grade you butt), and after that as i started looking into more stuff it stopped bugging me as much. after a while if you can appreciate the instrumentation and musical abilities of those groups and can at least cope with the vocals in time you'll learn to appreciate them too most likely

I don't really see the motivation behind finding pleasure in this screaming stuff, though. Why try to develop an appreciation for this sort of music when I could be enjoying more accessible music?

RE: RAGE THREAD!!!

because there's a ton of complexity and emotion behind this sort of stuff that other styles of music just can't capture anywhere near as well (i already made a rant about this somewhere but i don't feel like digging it up). in almost all forms of art the most accessible works are also the most simplistic and more complex and experimental works that have more creativity to them are based around ideas that are new and different, hence why they're inaccessible. i'm honestly surprised you're taking that stance when you were saying how terrible and simplistic all pop music is just a few weeks ago which is by definition the most accessible style of music.

RE: RAGE THREAD!!!

What about jazz? Improv is just emotions flowing through the sax(for me atleast).

Just to show some diversity in jazz.
