RE: Random Stuff
@Kman, did you have some booze today?
@Crits, go home
@Discussion
Even though the presence of the thread didnt disturb me personally, i can understand why it was taken down and have nothing against it. The forum rules are lacking here compared to the other forums, and in most other forums the thread wouldnt be even allowed to exist for a good reason
Sorry but we cannot change your avatar as the new avatar you specified is too big. The maximum dimensions are 80x80 (width x height)

RE: Random Stuff
@Abraxis: It's entirely a matter of principle. Do I personally enjoy looking at pictures or videos of highly graphic violence or displays of gore? No, that stuff personally makes me a little uneasy, as unfazed as I am by simulated gore. If I had complete control over things, then I would also implicitly disallow such content by removing entirely the objects of the photographs in question. However, that is a far cry from wanting to prevent other people from doing it simply based on my own beliefs. As far as I'm concerned, if people wish to view it they are free to do so as long as I am kept out of it. This little website we frequent here is obviously of little consequence - a thread being closed is relatively harmless. However, translate this exact idea over to real world administration and what you get is totalitarianism. I hope I don't need to tell you the harm it and related political ideas have done.
@Dogfood: And our Western judiciary systems are extremely limited when it comes to having separate laws for women. Should we adopt portions of the Sharia as it is applied in Saudi Arabia simply because it is more extensive and places more limitations on individuals? Or to use a less extreme example, should the Netherlands make cannabis illegal simply because in most other countries it is illegal?

RE: Random Stuff
@Abraxas It usually isn't about enjoyment when people look at these things. It's more of a way to get a connection to reality, if I could phrase it that way. Being desensitized doesn't mean we don't have any empathy/sympathy; It just means that if something like that would happen in real life we wouldn't be as shocked.
As to the discussion whether it was right or wrong to delete the thread I agree with Bridge, but at the same time I don't really care, because if I wanted to see dead people I'd just head on over to /r/morbidreality or /r/watchpeopledie
On another note, Kman is edgy af.
