When I open SOMA on an iMac (late 2012 model), the game opens normally, I get booted to a screen with a loading screen (I think), and after a while the loading screen freezes and the game crashes, without me seeing any glimpse of the main menu. Attached is the log for the game. EDIT: I tried to play it for the first time after preinstalling it. I've tried multiple times then, and reinstalled it. After reinstalling, it still shows the same issue.

This is the exact same issue I've been having on my 2013 Mac Pro...

Hmm, i may have spoken too soon. It may actually have been a problem with overheating.
The computer crashed again and then had problems restarting. I noticed that it was boiling hot, however–i hadn't noticed at first since I had been using a separate screen and keyboard.
I waited for a while for it to cool down. I then had another attempt and it seems to be working perfectly again. No glitches per the 2013 Mac Pro in the other thread. I'm keeping the computer in a more cool place now and continuing with the game, I'll mark this thread as solved once Ive confirmed that its really the heating and not something with the game.
(Sorry stealthbug, seems like it wasn't the same thing. but there is clearly some hardcore stuff going on at that precise moment, as that was the point my computer "melted")

Ah, I seemed to have fixed things by plugging out my second monitor which was plugged in with all my previous attempts. Problem solved!

Is a fix up on Steam, please check if you get it downloaded and then try to launch the game and see if problem fixed.

I tried to launch the game with the new update and my second monitor plugged in, but what now happens is that it starts up as normal, the loading screen loads for a second, it then freezes again, and then suddenly theres basically static coming out of my headphones as loud as the sound barrier being broken(thankfully I didn't have my headphones on my head at the time). After that it crashes again. I have included the log again...

I just fixed the issue with having a multi-monitor setup causing crashing. If you want the fix it is currently in the public_beta version of the game which you can opt into by doing the following:

1. right click SOMA in your library
2. click properties
3. click BETAS tab
4. select "public_beta" from drop-down list
5. click LOCAL FILES tab
6. click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE...

Let me know if you still have any issues. Thanks.

PS4. SOMA - Outside Omnicron. When the power is malfunctioning and you go to the small tower using the manual override, there's no panel to rip off and there's no lever.
PLEASE FIX SOON
I really do enjoy your game and want to play more but this is a problem that needs fixing.
email on: flarestar56@rocketmail.com
and don't tell me I have to restart because your game is terrifying haha
