Could you provide a video of a indoor level as well?

Another thing you could do that would help us would be if you could take a screenshot of the FPS Graph right after a spike.

To activate it set <Main DebugMode="true" ..> and then Press F1 to bring up the debug menu. Then scroll down to the bottom and click Show FPS Graph

One more thing you could try is to turn the Texture Quality to Low and restart the game. If it works it would eliminate some possible reasons for the stuttering

Let me test, I'll post back soon.

Got it. Making a vid for you guys now. Back soon.

Ok, from initial testing using low textures seems to fix 99% of the stutter IN THE AREA THAT I'M CURRENTLY UP TO. Medium textures result stutter but no where near as bad as if I was running the game using high textures.

Firstly, I had tried using lower textures before, but I never restarted the game after changing the textures, I only navigated back to the main menu then loaded my save file again. Completely restarting the game as you've said is needed for the game to properly load any texture change.

Secondly, what's the recommend spec to run the game at its highest texture setting? My GTX780 has 3gb, I thought this would be enough?? On high textures my card uses around 2500mb, where on low textures the game uses at most about 1200mb.

Thirdly, vids still coming.

The game uses around 1700 mb VRAM with high and 1080p resolution on the level you posted the video from.
Which resolution are you running the game at? It should use no where close to 2500 mb on that level and definently not 1200 mb on low

Uploading the video to youtube now. Would you guys prefer it private? It's going to take a while to upload, almost 700mb for a 3 min video (gawd...) and slow upload to boot lol. And you'll be able to see I wasn't exaggerating with the amount of VRAM the game is currently using on highest texture settings.

New video is up but I don't know why its only 360p?! it should be 720p 60fps like the first video I uploaded.
Edit: it seem the video is uploaded but it takes more time for other video streaming options to appear.

That still counts as an outdoor level since you have just entered a structure and the outdoor world is outside the window. My guess is that it is an issue with the terrain material compression or copying. We had issue with this on some Nvidia cards 2 years ago. But that was fixed in a driver update. Could you do this on the previous level? The one with the train crash

It could also be some kind of VRAM issue since the game does not use that much memory on most computers. It could be that your VRAM counter is for the whole computer and not just for the game (so the ~700 mb is from Windows and background applications)

Could you upload your hpl.log found at the same location as the cfg file?
