Hello, forum.

I'm having an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error upon trying to run Amnesia. I did some looking around and I'm starting to become aware that the graphics card for this laptop probably cant support the game at all, but my friend--who I'm trying to help set Amnesia for--insists that she ran her computer specs through the website Can You Run It, and her computer past the minimum requirements amazingly.

Downloaded the game through Steam, in case that info is necessary.

Can You Run It? isn't an entirely reliable source for finding out if your system can run a game. Also, you didn't post what graphics card and graphics card driver version the laptop has.

Did the game generate an hpl.log at My Documents\Amnesia\Main? If so, does it show any errors, like failing to compile GLSL shaders or not supporting const arrays in GLSL?

Yeah, that would help, though this is sounding like your graphics card drivers are out of date.
