if the computer showed a BSOD then it is definitely a driver issue. Most probably audio or video.

This game uses OpenGL and not DirectX. Most games, use DirectX and so older or current low end cards can not properly support such games. Use this to check for newer drivers, I hope it works:

It said something about my computer not having the required graphics adapter. ARGH. I thought this was top notch graphics! Now what?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. I am running on a 64-bit version of Windows 7.

CPU-Z or AIDA32 might be able to give you more information. It may also be written somewhere under your laptop.
