Went and found 10.2 manually and downloaded it, but everything is still the same.

I thought I had, but I'll try again.

Downloaded 1.2 but again its still the same. I'll attach the hpl thing again....also I'm not sure if it changes anything but where I got the update it said steam keeps games up to date and thats where I'm playing it from. I made sure to check that the game is set to automatic updates as well.

Game is still 1.1
Maybe you should tell steam to update the game manually, by clicking properties and verify integrity of game cache.

I think the demo does not have v1.2 but only v1.0.1. Either way, the problem is fixed after v1.0.1 so he shouldn't have problems.

Actually, my copy of the game does the exact same thing. Now, before anyone asks me for files and drivers and such... Please be aware that I don't know what I'm doing and will need to be linked to some form of tutorial on how to get these attach files and how to install/uninstall/update/etc a driver. I've looked everywhere for a solution, and I'm sure that it's a driver problem, but alas, because I am unable to figure out said drivers, I was forced to play the game in this state of 'liquid floor' and 'unplayable' sections. As an added misfortune, the famed 'water part' was part of these numerous unplayable sections, but I somehow managed to get through it...

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

ps - I did not buy from steam. I was given a hard copy of the game for my birthday. I have upgraded to the 1.2 version, and I have an ATI graphics card (I believe it's ATI X1200, but I don't know off the top of my head...).

1) Go to Documents\Amnesia\Main folder and open the file hpl.log. Copy everything you see there and paste them at the start of your next reply.
2) Then, go to start and search for dxdiag or click run and type dxdiag. At the bottom of the window click Save all. Open the saved file and copy-paste everything at your reply as well.
3) Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?

3) It's a laptop. My desktop has an intel graphics card and I know that those are not compatible with Amnesia. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5516. It was bought in November 2009, I believe...
