Game Crashes

I'm sorry if my question has already been answered in the threads mentioned, however i am not sure about it and havent found a solution yet so i'm posting here also.

I open the launcher and launch the game normally and then the screen turns black and a window appears, named "black box" which says the game has crashed.

In this window there is a box titled "Exception reason:" and in it it reads " Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module <UNKNOWN> at 001B:00000000"

The thing is i have played amnesia on my PC again. however i updated from win vista to win7 and when i tried to reinstall the game and play it this error started occuring.

a better look on the guides gave me something that might lead to a solution. Checking it now and will repost when done.

1. What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?
3. Attach me here the file HPL.log found under Documents\Amnesia\Main folder.
