game crashes on launch

the game crashes on launch and i haven't been able to find anything on the forums that seems to apply to my situation.

im on windows 7 32bit, a desktop system with a dedicated gpu, and the latest drivers.

i've tried forcing vsync on, as well as off, but that doesn't seem to be related to the problem.

Make sure yo have this installed:

i installed that driver and did a restart, but the problem still remains.

i also tried verifying the game cache in steam, but no problems were detected.

i'm beginning to think this is a problem with the steam install though, because i noticed there are roughly 1.7gbs of local files and i understand the game should be around 3.0gbs on disk?

Try question 3 (fresh install). It seems like a gpu driver issue.
