Solved: 8 Years, 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago Game crashes on loading the main menu

Hi guys, I am unable to play my Steam version of Amnesia and I have read through the guides, updated my graphics card drivers and nothing seems to help. When I start the game it gives me the start up messages, lets me change my gamma setting and then crashes as soon as it starts loading the main menu with the message:

Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module Amnesia.exe at 001B:004EC170

It is a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. It is an Acer Aspire 6920G laptop with a Nvidia GeForce 9500m GS. The HPL.log is attached.

I hope you can help, I love this game and want to play it myself.

Did you update the drivers by downloading the latest from nvidia.com?

i Tried opening amnesia directly throught Amnesia.exe in the Amnesia folder and it says the program can't start because SDL.dll is missing from your computer.
what should i do? where can i find the SDL.dll?

The renderer is GeForce 9500M GS/PCI/SSE2 and the opengl version is 3.3.0

I haven't edited any files, I just did a steam file integrity check and it told me everything was verified
