ATI driver problems: 7.12 and 8.1

I have the same problem on vista 64bit with a 2900 XT with 8.1 drivers.

It needs to be fixed, but how do we know if its ATI's problem or not.

Does downgrading the video driver to the one from 7.11 or earlier help?

i'm not interesting in trying old drivers just to play this game. maybe someone else can check.

But I upgraded from catalyst 8.1 to 8.2 today and I still get the same problem.

the thing is with me and my Hd 3850, is that the drivers that are reported to work with this game, were released before my card was made, and therefore arnt compatible with my card, so when they added compatibility for the new 38XX cards in the drivers, they did smething wrong and killed everyones support for this game.

i got the same problem with my ati hd3870, the shader are totally missed up, if i turn off all the effects and set qualtiy to very low then i'm able to see stuff, but still some place will black out....please fix this problem asap,i like this game

have a High-End graphic card and cant play decently the game, well ill try downgrade to 7.11 and get framedrops in all other games :/

ive installed the 7.11 and didnt solved the problem...

mmmm, i also tried to activate "geometry instance" in ati tray tools, because a similar problem was solved in this way with crysis. now the game simply does'nt load: may this help the developers?
