Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago Question  Additional Intel/AMD help please.

Hello, recently I have been experiencing the issue of having a black screen during the title screen and during game play. To resolve this issue I have used the "Disk Method" to update the driver of my integrated Intel graphics. When I do this it works, but it shuts off the ability for me to switch to my dedicated AMD graphics when I play more demanding games. (Using Catalyst Control Center)
I really enjoy the game, restarting my computer, when I want to play, and rolling back to the previous driver when I don't is really tedious.
That is why I was wondering if there was anything else that we could do.

I have a Lenovo G770 laptop, with a integrated Mobile Intel® HD Graphics, and a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 6650M. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Here is my HPL log.

Ok that's good. You're using an Intel HD card. So playing the game on the lowest possible settings may help

Thank you very much for the advice. When I have my Intel HD card's driver updated it works really well on medium settings. Its the fact that my more powerful AMD card gets disabled at that point for other games that is the issue. Thank you for the advice though

There is no option in the AMD control panel to set it to use the AMD card for a game if it fails to do it automatically? Nvidia cards have this.

No, there is not. That's why I made the big AMD+Intel HD Troubleshooting guide in the first place

Thank you very much for making that guide, I appreciate it. I just wish that there was a way that didn't disable my AMD card when I upgrade the driver for the Intel chip. Looks like I will need to just put this game on the back burner until I get a different computer.

Plug the charger in and set it to best performance. (I think that would fix it as it neglects power draw)
Nvidia has the option to set for every program what gpu to use weird CCC doesn't have it.

the AMD card is not disabled. The thing is that when you run OpenGL games/applications you can only use the Intel one. For everything else, AMD is just fine.
