Steam Linux Beta?
I'm running Steam with the Linux beta and I can download the games, but none of the games are working. It opens the "launching" window then it closes and nothing happens.
When will full, proper Steam Linux support arrive? And is there any way to download the Linux version legitimately so I can play it while I wait for the Steam version to be fixed?

RE: Steam Linux Beta?
Make sure your Steam client is up to date and try re-installing the games. All of the Penumbra games work on my end.

Reopening this topic, I've experienced almost the same problem, I suspect it's Steam downloading the 32-bit version of Penumbra on a 64-bit Linux. Many libraries are to be (re)downloaded in their i386 version. I've opened this thread on Steam forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/dis...780139275/
EDIT: after having downloaded all the missing libraries, the game now crashes on loading, there's a segfault. I'm still suspecting it's due to the 32-bit version on Ubuntu 64-bit.

RE: Steam Linux Beta?
There is no x64 Amnesia, x86 should be compatible with x64. The other way around does not work of course. It should be the same with Linux libraries but I only have Windows experience so who knows...

There isn't? The name of the binary of Amnesia I have is "Amnesia.bin64" while Penumbra (downloaded from Steam) binary name is "penumbra.bin".

Well, probably Linux is different so don't quote me on that. Wait for someone with Linux knowledge to help you. Urkle is your best bet!

There is no 64 bit version of Penumbra, only amnesia is available as 64 bit.

RE: Steam Linux Beta?
Well, thank you for answering, but... is making an x64 build of Penumbra for linux not on your schedule? I see quite a few topics with the same issue. Or is it Steam's job to satisfy all the dependencies when installing the game? (BTW: I'm still getting a segmentation fault now, despite I think I've installed everything. Too bad, I would have liked playing it on Linux, but hey, runs well on my windows 8.)
