No. Most original books fan arguments is basically saying how butthurt they are because some scenes have been cut, or it doesn't look like what they imagined it to be.

Honestly. I just see it as a different thing, nor better nor worse (but of course there are exceptions), Its simply someone's view on the book, there are a lot of thing that a movie can show us and impress us whit that a book simply can't (and vise versa). Saying that a book nor matter what it is. The movie adaptation is always automatically worse is a sign of arrogancy to me.

Danny Boy's right on that one, Chrono, although I don't agree that it's a sign or arrogancy, its more a sign that that person doesn't quite appreciate what films have to offer that books do not, or at least they are people that prefer plot/narrative to visual/audio presentation and acting/direction

Film adaptations are their own thing, preferring the book is totally valid - there are some of sci-fi books that I 'prefer' (in some ways) to their film adaptations because one of the things I love about sci-fi is increadibly in-depth, well explained concepts and plots, which is something that films cannot do as effectively - but at the same time, the films often have really excellent set and audio design, which is awesome in it's own right, and which a book cannot do.

I don't read much so I can't say much about the subject either, I found Harry Potter books to be more enjoyable than the films... Maybe because I was too old when the films came out that I got bored of the films.

Why do you hate Skins? Bad representation of Bristol? Its mean't to be exaggerated of course Smile

Always made me wonder why there were so many Welsh people living in Bristol in skins o.O

As for films you should/shouldn't watch alone... I watched the Swedish original of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo alone, then made the mistake of watching the American remake with my brother... Ohme XD

I watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on an airplane and I swear everyone around/next to me just thought I was watching softcore torture porn during the rape scene, it was awkward.

On another note, watched 'Enter the Void' by Gaspar Noe recently, that's some messed up sh*t, anyone else had the pleasure of seeing it? Kinda put it in a similar category to Requiem for a Dream, though it's still very different. It's a pretty mind-blowing visual experience, if you set aside the right time to really get into it
