Black Screens (not the common ones)

^ Yes, here too. Since I have cleaned my harddrive, those black screens appears to me as well. I, have re-installed the game, but it did not help. I also followed the instructions of how to install that Intel thingy. I have Intel Family (apparently, I don't know anything of computers...) and others won't work.

But it's not Amnesia only, the audio in my Far Cry 3 game is suddenly gone as well. In both games the loading screens seem to work out perfectly. But as soon as the mail title screen appears, something is wrong. For Far Cry 3 it misses its music and audio (also in the gameplay) and for Amnesia the video is not working. Which is weird, because I can see the hand appear sometimes, and read the hints like "This door is locked firmly." There is nothing wrong with the controls. That's a big plus, I suppose.

So I would love to get help as well!

It's not the same problem I'm having I cant see anything when the black screen comes in and it comes and goes every few time.

BTW it only happens when its really dark in the game, I didn remember it has never showed in places with light or with the lamp working.

Oh, I'm sorry! I'd interpret your first post as the same problems I am having. I should read more carefully next time!

@ Sweet Scars: Open a new thread for your problem

@ BlackDog: Ok, there is a chance that these nvidia settings are causing problems to the game files. So, please try these steps again but this time just run the game afterwards. Don't change anything at 3D Settings at Nvidia Control Panel.

1) Delete local content via steam.
2) Let it redownload from steam.
3) Do a file integrity check via steam.
4) Delete the folder Documents\Amnesia (it might be corrupted).
5) Reinstall your graphics card drivers and select a clean installation during setup.
6) Restart your computer and try the game again without any changes to the nvidia control panel.

Ok I'll do.

Is there any option to keep the savegame? Because I'm a little tired of having to play all again until the point the black screens start to appear ;__;

Oh and is the driver reinstallation absolutely neccesary? Because I've just done it, and I've reseted the Nvidia control panel to default.

No, you don't have to reinstall the driver. If you did a reset to defaults you are just fine.

But yes, try a new game. The old saves/settings may be corrupted somehow.

Something I just realised, I changed the name to the folder to Amnesia_OLD, but the game automatically created a new one created Amnesia and that is were the data of my profile is.

Yes, I told you to rename it to Amnesia_OLD so in case the problem was in Amnesia folder (this folder is automatically created by the game and stores your settings and saves) you could transfer back your saves. But since the saves may be corrupted too, delete both Amnesia and Amnesia_OLD.

That's for the best. But since noone had this ever for 2 and a half years I strongly believe that something is wrong with your computer whether this has to do with hardware or software.
