Yeah but guys.... Don't do mental masturbations about the monster. It won't be the only scare source in the game, it's part of the game. it's an only experience. So why bothering what will the monster look like, how are you gonna play etc.

I think it's a bit stupid talking about it before having finished the game

Yes, that is true, as well. I'm looking forward to the puzzles and scenery and what they will bring to the table to do best to scare us. The monsters in TDD frightened me, but I was also taken in by the game's atmosphere, especially the torture rooms and morgue, and the Kaernk. I hated that thing so much. The Shadow actually didn't scare me, I suppose because I knew it wouldn't harm me unless I stayed on it long enough, and the chase scenes with it were not as bad as that one with the Brute in the sewer.

I'm not sure how great the puzzles will be. On the front page of the frictional games website it says this about the game:

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs' narrative-driven horror, free of combat and complex puzzles, instead encourages players to entrench themselves in the world, be consumed by its ambiance, and run for their lives.

Again, it says "complex puzzles". No puzzles in TDD were complex. At all.

I wonder if the anteater Thomas Grip mentioned in an interview a while ago is either one of the monsters, or just a scare.

I was surprised playing a prototype and there was an anteater in the game that came out of nowhere, and I was like 'oh shit, there's an anteater there!' Details like that. [laughs] I loved that anteater.

Hm i dont think they want to add living animals to the game and put them into a room... Would be more creepy than the monsters, just imagine a grizzly growling at you in a cage. In rl, it would be okay...
