Another thing. With all due respect but u probably haven't sold 500 000 copies of the game already so if You have 10 pages of post by users with the same problem with very various PC steups You can assume that there maybe is something wrong with the game.

There is 100 posts and 1,382 views of this thread. This is 3rd most viewed and 1st most commented thread in AAMFP Technical Support at this moment so i don't think "Because if it were a sole issue with the game, then ALOT more people would post about this on the forum." is relavent now.

If it is tell Us how many post and views do You need to start doing something? There is any specifiic number when Your game engineers will start doing anything with this?

I'm not sure if there is a way to have it save the priority of if it needs set every time.

I can't do that I'm administrator but i have notification "access denied to change the priority"

As I am trying to say, it is not that there is not a problem for you, but it is not a problem with solely the game, as there are too many people playing the game with similar configurations to your configurations that does not have the problem. We are talking about computers, there are bound to be specific conflicts and issues due to the endless combinations of hardware and software. So there is no magic patch to make for the game that fixes it.

So to solve this we have to find the cause and find workarounds.

For starters, those that say they had this in TDD as well. Then something with our game is the way it is and makes it sensitive to something with your configuration. This sensitivity is then further noticeable in AMFP, as the game is much more demanding than TDD.

Likely causes could be programs running in the background, this could be browsers but could also be hidden things like for example the process Voddler keeps on your computer, or all the process that various antivirus have running. So a first step would be to shutdown everything else but the game and see if that helps.

Could be Steam overlay, community, Windows Aero themes.

It could also be a conflict between settings for the graphics card and the game options, trying different combinations can find the cause. For example in the past AI catalyst has been known to cause more troubles than improvements with our games.

Could be driver issues, not only for graphic cards, but also sound cards, drives and what not.

If nothing helps, then I can only advice to ask for a refund as you are not happy with the product as it is not working as it should for you. We are not happy that the game is not working well for you and sorry it has wasted your time, but we can not fix everything and guarantee a 100% perfect experience for all.

No. No, no, no, dear sir. I have been following this thread for a while now, hoping everything regarding performance would be fixed in a patch. M'n broek zakte me van de reet toen ik je verbijsterende reactie las, as we say in The Netherlands. In English: my pants fell off my *ss while reading your stunning reaction. Saying it can't be done is b*llshit in 2013. I'm an IT specialist, and selling this nonsense to my customers would result in cancelled orders and a lot of problems for my employer.

I encounter the same problems as the other users before me. My system is dated, yet - in my humble opinion - it should be enough to run this game without problems. It runs most games fairly well, to my surprise, yet AAMFP just starts dropping frames in bigger areas for no apparant reason. Changing settings does not do the trick, it only makes the game harder to look at.

I just want to enjoy this game. Immerse myself. With framedrops everywhere it just isn't much fun. It detracts from the experience. Please patch this, because it's definitely a coding problem. Don't be lazy and tell me to go ask for a refund... I really want to enjoy AAMFP as I did TDD and Outlast.

My system:

i7 950
AMD HD5870 (13.4)
6GB RAM
Windows 7 x64
Sound Blaster X-Fi

Kind regards,
Jazz

Guys, just a heads up: You are not helping solve the problem! by nagging constantly.

What Jens is trying to say is that in order to find fixes for this problem you must try some workarounds. For example:

1) Disable ALL background applications
2) Try a higher priority via Task Manager
3) Reduce SSAO quality to Medium and not High (I have a 660 Ti & i5-3570K which is way more powerful than the game will ever need it to be but I had to set to medium to go from 42 to 60+ fps.)

Bottom line, try some things first. Don't just pile up complains. This is not Ubisoft for example where there are 50 people trying to help. Keep that in mind.

This game has more problems than a poor console port...and its a PC game.
Dont tell me that this game is demanding for our systems, i can play all game in the market with ultra settings and 60 fps but not this game? that is bullshit. For exemple Outlast, awesome graphics and runs at a solid rock 60 fps all the time.
I dont want a refund, i want a patch that solves the game problems.
Even on low i get low fps...on LOW! with a HD 7950 3GB + i5 + 8GB.
And its not only fps..when i have my controler connected the camera starts spinning, i dont want to disconnet the controler every single time i go to play the game.
And i really want to play it but not like this, optimize your game.

I have tried all of this, nothing solves.
The game is bad optimized, thats the problem mate.

^ completely agree. You should be working on a patch btw not telling customers to ask for refunds. Most of us would love to be able to play it like this person stated earlier, but the stuttering and freezing makes it terrible.

System specs
Fx-6300
Radeon HD 7850
8gb Ram
Windows 8 x64
Gigabyte 970a-ud3

Really: I don't want to complain. I want to shit my pants and stop playing because of how scary this game is, not because the game is "broken" in its current state.

And since when did Ubisoft or EA really help their customers? Those guys only help themselves. I have Frictional in very high regard... Jens' reaction just wasn't the reaction I expected. It is just not done, I think. You don't treat customers like this. Telling them to go f*ck themselves isn't solving problems either.

Kind regards,
Jazz

I've come here to say exactly the same thing (and I've tried many tweaks). It's pretty clear that when the engine deals with data in the background there's hitching going on; I'm not sure if this is a memory issue or otherwise, but it seems to happen when navigating between areas/rooms.

It's a big disappointment for an otherwise well developed horror game. I hope the developers can address this, although I've got no idea complexity- wise how far down it goes (which could be very costly)

How exactly do you expect to make a patch when not knowing what causes the problem? And the refund (if you noticed) was the last thing that Jens said as the last resort. Don't hung up on that.

After the stuttering occurs, can you attach HPL.log as mentioned at the troubleshooting guide, Problem X? Maybe I can find connections.
