Solved: 10 Years, 2 Months ago Runtime Error and closes [Solved - Kinda]

When going down the lift in "Anything to save them!" into the loading screen, the game crashes out, similarly to when the game crashes at the start of chapter 2. It gives me a "Runtime Error", says that it stopped unusually, but won't give me more information than this.

I have turned everything in "Advanced Graphics" off.

I have stopped all possible background processes.

There are no controllers currently plugged in - in fact, I have always had a controller plugged in in the past and it runs fine.

I always Verify Cache before asking for help, so I have done this.

I have updated my drivers.

My computer should run AAMFP, but isn't supported. I don't see how I should get so far if it "doesn't work" on my machine.

I have:

Windows 8 64bit laptop
Intel® Core™ i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
6.1 GB RAM
Intel® HD Graphics 4000

Give me a moment to figure out the best way to attach the HPL

Thank you for reading this, and advice is welcome.

The File Was Too Large so I had to put it in a Word Document.

I looked at all read "Read Firsts" and from what that says it SHOULD work, unless I'm reading everything incorrectly!

Solved: 10 Years, 2 Months ago RE: Runtime Error and closes

I tried updating the drivers (again), and this time I got a new error - which I thought to capture.

This is a different error to the one I was complaining about above, but has the same result - A game crash. This one has a more interesting presentation than the other! So I am attaching it

So I semi fixed it.

It appears to be a problem with transitioning between chapters.

When looking at loads I had noticed that they were out of order- I assumed that was due to verifying cache somehow, so I was looking only for the chapter I knew I was up to.

This time I looked at times. I have a file set for the other side of the lift which I can load fine.

I don't understand why.

This could be either:

1) Unsupported Intel HD card causing problems between levels (as it does when going from 1->2 on high settings).
2) A known issue with steam versions that "corrupts" the save game date/times causing the saves to look scrambled.

Number 2 Definitely applied. And possibly (probably) my card too. But I figured out a work around and have now completed the game Smile
