A moderator decided to delete the whole thread.
Almost all of the posts there had visible NSFW warnings, spoiler and/or code tags (to prevent images and videos from being directly displayed or linked), and even descriptions of the content, so that people would only see the posted material if they willingly wanted to.
But it seems that moderating is too much of a hassle these days. It's easier and faster to just click the 'delete' button.

RE: Random Stuff
Ahh I see... Thanks for the explanation. Fortunately any thread in this forum can be quite disturbing.

well if you look at it, the whole thread itself is against the rules. It's literally the same if someone created "Porn collection thread" where everyone would get to post their favourite porn sites and videos.
Not saying that i had any problem with its presence, just explaining why it happened. (We were talking with Scrapper about it through skype)
Sorry but we cannot change your avatar as the new avatar you specified is too big. The maximum dimensions are 80x80 (width x height)

I personally didn't find any of the material I've seen on that thread to be "false, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually orientated, threatening or invasive of a person's privacy", nor did it "violate any applicable laws".
It all depends on one's own interpretation of the rules and also on the person's sensitivity to the contents.
If there were any posts that violated the rules somehow, those should have been deleted individually.

RE: Random Stuff
Isn't it common sense to not post stuff that is absolutely despicable and all-around disgusting and inappropriate? That stuff was horrible, good thing it was removed.

RE: Random Stuff
@Dogfood: The thread wasn't against the rules. Read the rules and see for yourself.
A porn thread would be against the rules, because the rules say so. This was already discussed on the very first page of the Disturbingness Thread and the issue was subsequently put to bed. The thread was live for months, because it wasn't against the rules.
Decisions being made between a single mod and regular users on Skype isn't how things are supposed to be done. The thread wasn't for everyone, but it wasn't up to any one person to simply decide for themselves to delete it just because they didn't personally like it. If you don't like it you didn't have to open it (even if you're a moderator - I was moderating the thread just fine myself), and if there was something posted there which was against the rules, that post should have been removed, not the entire thread, as Ashtoreth said.
@Naked? No: No one made you read the thread. Its content wasn't a mystery to anyone.
