Amnesia uses OpenGL 2.1 which is not new by any means but the graphics look just fine -> great at max. The darkness also helps of course(hiding details). I would consider unacceptable the lack of dynamic shadows at a game that I expect to come with it and from a company with many developers(cod, gta etc...).
So dynamic shadowing is not a feat anymore. Also you know perfectly well that my response was perfectly adequate to your post.
I don't understand your reaction. I own Amnesia and spread the word about all FG games. I don't think I asked an inappropriate question or that I don't have the right to ask such questions. I also don't think your 'no one cares' is substantial. Few persons I spoke with would actually trade Amnesia SSAO and so on for dynamic shadows like we saw in Penumbra. They also use my dynamic shadows MOD.
In any case I'm not interested in discussing the subject of the need for dynamic shadowing in a game like Amnesia.
