RE: Older Gamers - Hands up
First gaming console I played was SNES; First console I owned was PSone - damn, good times. I got it when I was 5. I am now 20. Hence, I am relatively young. The first PC I used was... Don't remember the year, but it had Windows95 and Red Alert. A big ass crt display and was manufactored by POMI. A company that does not exist anymore. And the PC... it is currently in atoms at my attic.

RE: Older Gamers - Hands up
I remember my dad playing Wolfenstein 3D on our Windows 2k PC and I was scared shitless by it. He also used to play some demo of FarCry. Other than that, I played mostly PC games like Sims 1, Harry Potter 1 & 2, Pinchcliffe Grand Prix and some other random stuff. I played on console mostly Zelda Wind Waker and Mario Kart DD on the GameCube, back in like 2002-2004. Then I played loads of RuneScape starting in 2006. I can also shimmer a faint memory of playing Super Mario Bros on the NES at my uncle's. It must have been around 2000 or maybe even before.
Man, all these games make me think of the good old days when I was a noob at everything. Honestly, sucking at games is fun when you look back at it.
Today, I own an NES, SNES, Wii, GB, GBA SP, DS, 3DS... well, most of all the Nintendo consoles. I play PC games, and if I want a console experience, Nintendo is by far my choice of artillery.
Oh, and I also have a PS2. Good stuff.

RE: Older Gamers - Hands up
Played Doom when I was 1 year old. I remember as a little 5 year trying to explain to my dad how the Protoss worked but I was probably wrong. Played Starcraft and a millions hours on Battle.net custom games. Then got hooked on Warcraft 3 and their custom games, a little Console gaming over the years, some WoW moments.
Now I'm waiting for SOMA

I'm 24, married.
Played NES and PC as a child (Super Mario Bros., Need for Speed, Age of Empires II, Descent, Gothic II, etc.). Interested in all forms of video games, platforms and gaming history in general; from radar equipment to the newest releases. Fanboy'ism isn't my thing.

RE: Older Gamers - Hands up
I remember one of the first 'proper' games I ever played, was Goonie II on the Nes.
I loved and hated that game. It made no sense and the story has nothing to do with the goonies, but damn was it fun trying and dying over....and over.....and over.

RE: Older Gamers - Hands up
I was about 9-10 when Call of Duty became popular in my area. When can we go back to the day that COD zombies were actually scary rather then the next firing range target!
Of course, I didn't grow up in the Windows DDoS era so my opinion is invalid anyway.

Not anytime soon, because they never weren't. Also, *Microsoft DOS, not "Windows DDos"
I'm not an older gamer either, but I used to maniacally play sort of old games such as Gothic 2 with addon, Morrowind, Return to castle Wolfenstein, MOHAA, Age of empries 2, Flatout and stuff like that.
