Depth Was A Hoax

EXACTLY..... Yet the Soma Wiki lists depth as a Hoax and the post right above us was made my Don Thacker (or someone posing as him) the director of the shorts and the film.

Just because on the wiki it is listed as a hoax doesn't make it true. Wiki's are some of the worst places to base claims on since anybody can edit it. In the hype of the situations lately, someone probably, as you said earlier, jumped to conclusions and changed it.

As for this cipher, I can tell you that it's not a Caesar Cipher (at least, not one in English) as the sentence above in the single character spot, making it "a" or "I" does not work in that particular method.

Oh i know. I never once thought Depth was a Hoax. I actually tried changing the wiki entry to reflect that but someone changed it back to being just a "Hoax". I Can't wait to make those false rumor starters eat their words with some salt. I was trying to do some damage control, as Thomas Grip never said Depth was a Hoax.... just that no official announcement was made (which is true). And of course, someone ran with that and put teeth in an otherwise empty rumor.

I've tried several different Ciphers, including the word Kerkhoff but to no avail.

Incidentally, i ran the binary through a converter and got:

Eji cyzi y dyvyzsei. Yl yqnwyt dyvyzsei.

So those resemble words, and punctuation. And dyvyzsei is repeated so its the same word from the first sentence.

If that's the case, the key is probably 2, 4 or 8 letters long (or 16...) if it requires one. (And is not SOMA in terms of a polyalphabetic)

Doesn't the key have to be put together in a stream? for example, SOMASOMASOMASOMA so that each character of the key corresponds to the cipher text?
