I was kind of expecting to see this part in the game, but we never did.
Wondering if this scene was planned early on in development, and was scrapped later, or FG intentionally created this scene for the gameplay trailer..

This map was specifically created for that teaser.

Brought this up in another thread, but if you look through the 'special' folders in the entities section, they contain stuff like 'teaser_corpse', teaser_brain_pedastal' etc. I'm sure it's possible.

That's great. It definitely was a great style they used for the teaser, so it'd be great if someone could realize it.

I agree, and if you look at the notes on the original beginning of the game that frictional had planned, it was something similar. The wall peeling away to reveal a gigeresque corridoor and eventually revealed to be a simulation/hallucination. That really reinforces my feeling that what we're seeing in this teaser is a hallucination by a character that's been infected by the WAU and is experiencing a slow disconnect with his mind and reality.

It could also be the layout of the level wasn't yet finalized. That looks like the entrance to Lambda, but it could be that again, they hadn't started building that level proper for the final version.
