Hello hello my problem is simple and i spotted some other people on the steam forums having the same issue. I have an AMD R7750 graphic card , all updated.... the games starts, the menu is fine, no glitches or other stuff.... but when i am actually playing the game (at the very beginning when Simon gets up) the whole room seems splitted in incredibly high light and total darkness on the otherside. Plus any screen (the phone one, the monitor etc) are totally black, not showing anything at all. I managed to proceed with the game but the exact same stuff happens later on and since the light/shadows stuff is crucial as well as being able to see what's on a screen... well yeah, i was wondering what might be the problem! Maybe dynamic lights? However, i post down here my hpl.log file... it has some errors in it, but no idea what they are for. Hope you can help soon...

I would suggest trying to look for any driver updates you can find for your system, especially the GPU.

Updated the drivers.... nothing changed. Also, reading the log it's easy to understand that there is some bug in creating the textures since the line
ERROR: Couldn't create material 'entities/urban/tech/monitor_large/televison_small_screen.mat'
makes it pretty clear....also the
ERROR: Could not get group with path 'frontend/' in project 'special_fx'. Reason: An invalid parameter was passed to this function.
just really? invalid paramiter means that the program has a bugged function or something, those things always happen while programming i know, i am just posting to try being helpful since other people had my same issue. i will attach the log once again now

I think the issue has to do with AMD cards, as these problems don't seem to happen (at least as) often on Nvidia ones. Perhaps those errors in the log are causing it, but I believe I read that those are normal. Though, I should probably make way for someone who knows the system in and out to answer that.

Alright, i tried to give all the infos i could because i am a user of course....but not a brainless one and i have a little knowledge so i also try to help and make the problem easier to find in order to let more competent people find a solution! The game has been out for very few so i'll just wait for future updates !

ok solved...the issue was with drivers BUT update them wasn't totally a solution because it needed the BETA drivers to work and those are NOT downloaded automatically, so i think that is why alot of people says 'i updated them and nothing changes' simply because unless you manually download the beta ones (ververy recents i must say, 13 october 2015) the update tool will not offer them. Thanks to all i am not enjoying the wonderful game!
