which settings? there's a window that always pops up before the game starts that asks for my resolution and such.

Yes. If you change any of those, do the changes persist after you relaunch the game?

it doesn't remember my resolution and graphics. i wasn't sure if it was normal for it to always pop up with the wrong graphics choice and wrong resolution, that i have to set each time.

i downloaded it via utorrent and it worked. i noticed that it even asked if i wanted to make a folder for it. i tried to download it on steam but it wouldn't come up in my library, i guess because i already have the full version on there.

So it's the Steam version that's failing, right? If so, I will try to reproduce the problem here.

that's the only thing that i've noticed that's different. should i try and reinstall steam and amnesia tonight?

Well, you did say reinstalling the game didn't work, so I'm not sure if doing so to Steam would make a difference. You're free to try though
