Serious bugs in the game

Most of the things you listed are different because you two had different sanity levels and that the game has randomness to it.

You should be able to see a rope at the well though, and you should be able to see the dead man in the cell.

Verify the game files in steam, you may have missing files.

As xiphirx said verify the game files, it is an option is steam. I think it is called Check Files Integrity or something like that.

When did Steam autoupdate the game? I mean, do you remember at which part of the game you where before Steam updated the game?

I don't know exactly when Steam did the update but we were in the last prison block.

Did a validation of my files and still no difference.
I'm going to restart from one of those early saves I guess.

Doesn't she have steam too? Then her game must be updated too I guess. After the well the game can take different paths. It is possible that you took a different path than the other player. When I mean path, I mean choices, actions and of course what always counts is sanity.

Yes, she's on steam too.

As for choices and actions... we both did the same things ingame. The only thing that's different is the sanity and health of out characters.

I don't really care about the cut scenes and the spooky hallucinations. The main thing that's bugging me is that there is no way for me to interact with those wells to fix that tonic or to use that bucket (whatever it's used for).

I think it will work just fine. Why not? You need to transfer .sav files. There are found under Documents\Amnesia\Main\-USER-NAME- folder. Make a backup of your old ones just in case. If you need more help tell me.
