Does anyone else experience the 30fps lock issue when V-sync is enabled with Catalyst v11.7?
Tripple buffer setting has no effect either.

My components and OS:

Win7 64-bit
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6550M
Core i3 380-M
Corsair 2x4GB DDR3 PC8500
Intel SSD 320 120GB

Thx for reply. Unfortionally turning off mouse smoothing did not work. My monitor settings are correct and reinstalling Catalyst 11.6 seems to be the only way to resolve the issue.
It's just that who wants to stick around with a previous driver when the benefit for other things can be very good with the latest? It's not that I won't but I think it's lame that a WHQL driver can cause this severe maximum FPS lock. And it's not only one but two of my notebooks which have different hardware/OS but shares a common thing. Both have ATI graphics and Catalyst 11.7.
The issue also occurs in other game titles as Quake 3 but I won't take that further because this is a Frictional Games forum after all.
I have sent the feedback to AMD but I don't think it will matter cause there are alot of people that always play without v-sync. And this I can't understand. You may laugh but playing without vsync totally ruins the atmosphere and details in games IMO. It's like buying a new car full of scratches and say: I don't care. No one will notice it when I drive fast on the highway.

Alot of text. But I feel a little bit lighter now Smile.
Forum looks nice btw.

Yeah, I updated my driver today and saw that v-sync locks the frame-rate at 30. This is nothing but b*llshit. Crappy software!

Well, lets bug the CatalystCreator here: http://twitter.com/#!/CatalystCreator

Thats why I hate ATI/AMD. Because of bad drivers. Nvidia is way beter for gaming. Also ATI has problems with embedded Intel cards and OpenGL games in general.
