I have been having a black screen appearing on black plague right after the intro but a funny thing is I can play the tutorial just fine no problems at all all the way up until you have to sneak part then it freezes right there. And the requiem works on the first intro in the room when you are at the computer but the next part after that a few seconds into it freezes.

Any possible solutions? I just dont get why it works to practically 100% of the requiem intro and the black plague tutorial up till the sneak part.

1. What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?
3. Attach me here the file HPL.log found under Documents\Penumbra\Black Plague folder (or similar).

Windows vista basic 32 bit desktop. In then end I am guessing the answer after all these questions will be "Your graphics card is not supported." Or something is not supported. And of course my answer will be "What do you think I can just fork up 800+ dollars for a computer. Or hope to god that this graphics card will fit in here?"

What graphics card do you have? You can find it if you type dxdiag at start>run or just search.

Your graphics card supports OpenGL 1.5 when the game requires at least 2.1 .

if it is a desktop you can get a new graphics card only. Even very cheap ones support OpenGL 4.1 nowadays.

Okay. Then what do you suggest for a dell inspiron 530 for a graphics card under $125 bucks that can fit and actually work with the system?

Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU 450 @2.20GHz, ~2.2GHZ

Memory: 2036MB RAM

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Basic

DirectX Version: DirectX 10

Intel® G33/G31 Express Chipest Family

Chip Type: Intel® GMA 3100

For example a GIGABYTE GEFORCE GT440 GV-N440D3-1GI 1GB PCI-E RETAIL at $80 is more than enough. It supports DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814125366

Power Supply >= 300W is required!

For better graphics cards like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814134130 at $125 that you said you need better power supply.
